Why Should You Try Different Yoga Styles?

Yoga and meditation have basically taken the world by storm. This is not an exaggeration. A lot of people are stressed out. There are so many things that people worry about. In fact, depression and anxiety have always been prevalent in many different parts of the world, especially in advanced economies.

It is no surprise then that a lot of people have discovered the tremendous amount of calm and inner serenity they can achieve when they practice yoga and matching discipline like meditation and mindfulness. As easy as it is to get into the yoga lifestyle, please understand that you need to try different yoga styles.

In other words, there are different schools of thought regarding yoga, and we’re not just talking about different poses.

The poses and the physical manifestations of these different yoga styles actually form the tip of the iceberg. There’s a lot more going on than what you can readily see. Different yoga styles bring to the table different levels of relaxation and inner calm.

Depending on your set of personal circumstances, you might want to try one style of yoga over another. But unfortunately, you’re not going to know which is your ideal style until you go through many different yoga styles.

Regular yoga practice doesn’t have to be a chore. This doesn’t have to necessarily be some sort of hassle, by having a plan as to how you would go through many different yoga styles.

You’ll eventually will get to the ideal style for you. You have to understand that different people have different needs. Don’t think that just because somebody you like and admire, for example, your best friend has a specific yoga style that it is the style for you. You have to have an open mind.

You have to understand the everybody is different, and guess what, these little differences do add up, especially when it comes time to relax. The worst thing that you can do is to stick with a style precisely because it is the style that somebody thought you.

It says if you picked up yoga and you never really progressed beyond that point, you have to adapt, you have to figure things out on your own. You have to eventually pick a style that better fits your overall lifestyle attitude and mindset.

Unfortunately, it’s easy to get stuck. It’s not much different from buying a product. You buy a product because you have a certain problem, or you need something fixed. So you stick with that product because it’s the only product you know. You feel like you don’t really have any time to look for any other product.

What if I told you that there’s another product that I could actually do a better job as far as your needs go? Unfortunately, you wouldn’t know because you didn’t try. At the back of your mind, even though you’re not completely happy with the product that you’re using, you feel like you really don’t have the time or motivation to pick something that is better.

If you’re like most people, you’re reactive. You don’t proactively seek a bigger, better solution. Instead, you wait for a situation that basically puts your back against the wall. Then and only then would you lift a finger to try something else.

Don’t put yourself in a situation. Please understand that if you want to get the very best from your yoga practice, you have to be more proactive. That’s right. You have to keep experimenting with the many different yoga styles out there until you come upon something that fits you like a glove.

Is this going to happen overnight? Of course not. Often times this takes many months, if not, years. But as long as you stick to some sort of schedule as far as trying different styles of yoga, eventually you will get there. The worst thing that you can do is to stick with something that is passable.

Well, when it comes to your mindset as well as your ability to achieve a deep level of personal calm, passable is never good enough. You can’t sell yourself short. You have to look for the best.

Now, a lot of people think that this is a hassle. They are under the impression that this will take too much time, effort and energy. They think you have to visit and tour Ubud, Bali or somewhere faraway. After all, they have so many other duties, or responsibilities, obligations that they have to take care of. To them, this is a luxury.

Well, it’s not a luxury if you think about it, because what you’re doing is you are investing in your ability to think clearly. You’re also investing in emotional clarity. This investment pays off tremendously because you’re probably going to make better use of your will power. Chances are if you operate from a deep sense of inner abiding and peacefulness, you are more likely to make better decisions.

You probably don’t need me to remind you of the impact of better decision making in your life. Not only do you stand to make more money, it also means that you will be happier in all areas of your life. That’s right. I’m talking matches about your workplace, your professional career but also your relationships, and most importantly your relationship with yourself.

This is the fountainhead of all levels of personal well-being. Take good care of it. It is well worth your time. I know that you have other things to worry about. I know that you have other things that seem to require more time, attention and energy.

But if you invest in this aspect of your life, you stand to reap tremendous rewards that will persist for a very long time. Definitely look into different yoga styles. You will thank yourself for it later on.
