Only a few kilometres northwest of the Adelaide CBD, lies Hindmarsh. Nestled between the railway, South Road and the Torrens River, Hindmarsh is an interesting suburb.
The suburb of Hindmarsh is named after South Australia’s first Governor, Sir John Hindmarsh (1785-1860).

Notable buildings include;
The 16,500-seat Hindmarsh Stadium, which is home to the Adelaide United football club.
The well known Governor Hindmarsh Hotel, on Port Road, Hindmarsh, which was opened in 1848.
The Adelaide Entertainment Centre, which is a major venue for all kinds of performances, and houses up to 11,300 people.

The Joiners Arms Hotel used to be a dodgy bar, however it’s now a recently renovated Australian pub with a cool vibe, and a typical modern pub fare menu.

The Hope Inn is well known for being family friendly, and for their large outdoor beer garden. They also have a sports bar, TAB facilities, serving pub food and pizza.
